From 463 EUR per nightWhat each room costs, and the two that don't say
Two glass rooms set the entry price. The Flying Glass Room and the Floating Glass Room both start at 463 EUR a night, and the Mountain Glass Room is the most expensive at 1,424 EUR. The Hanging Room and the Wild Nature Room have no published rate, so ask before you plan around either one.
Inside a glass room: queen bed, kitchenette, no shower
The three glass rooms take a maximum of two people and have one queen bed, a kitchenette with a stovetop, fridge, kitchenware and tea and coffee, plus a dining table, a seating area, a desk, a balcony and outdoor furniture. Soundproof walls and a private entrance are what make a glass room work after dark. Heating, a fan, wifi and hypoallergenic linen come as standard.
The bathroom is the catch. It has a toilet and no shower, and the alternatives are a lake dip in summer, cryotherapy in the snowy months, or hot towels and wet wipes on a longer stay. If a hot shower at the end of a cold day is non-negotiable, this is the wrong hotel.
The Hanging Room and Wild Nature Room take one guest
The Hanging Room is 2 square metres and takes one guest. You are walked out to it and shown how to spend the night alone outdoors, and the only facility listed is towels. The Wild Nature Room also sleeps one.
Both come with the same rules: pets are not accepted, and public parking is free.
Getting in: a forest walk or a snowmobile
Every arrival starts at Klockarvägen 25 in Jokkmokk, and the season decides what happens next. From late spring through early autumn you meet at the parking area and walk about 15 minutes through wild forest, leaving everything in the car and carrying a backpack. From late autumn through early spring you meet in Jokkmokk and ride a snowmobile instead, with all your luggage, and the Floating Glass Room includes that transfer.
Give the hotel at least 24 hours' notice on WhatsApp so the transfer is ready. The rooms also sit in four separate areas, and the furthest apart are roughly 250 km from each other, so confirm which cabin is yours before you start driving.
Which room fits your trip
Pick by party first. A couple books a glass room, because the Hanging Room and the Wild Nature Room take one guest each and the glass rooms take two. A solo traveller who wants a night outdoors rather than a view has those two, and neither is a room you book for comfort.
The season matters more than the room. Jokkmokk gets 32 consecutive days of midnight sun in summer, which is when the forest walk in and the water outside make sense. Winter is the aurora season, and February is the busiest week of the year: the Jokkmokk Market has been held since 1605 and starts on the first Thursday of the month, so book that week early or plan around it.
