Hotel Kung Carl

“We stayed in the Victoria Suite of Hotel Kung Carl for New Year's Eve 2025. The suite is a wonderful small apartment with a separate living room and two bathrooms. The larger bathroom is complete with a bathtub, a shower and a small sauna. The suite also has a large balcony overlooking the Stureplan square. We received great and personal service both before and during our stay, the staff was very accommodating. Note that you need to request room keeping the day before, which is common in many Swedish hotels. We have been staying at Hotel Kung Carl for roughly ten years when visiting Stockholm. The vintage styling of the hotel rooms and the location in the beautiful city centre is perfect for celebrating New Year's Eve, anniversaries or similar occasions.”

“The location is fantastic, you stay in the city center and can walk to every place. My room was (room with queen size double bed, 2nd floor) spacious enough, clean and very quite. Bed was a bit soft for me but still I had a comfortable sleep. The breakfast was rich, fresh and delicious. I was happy with my stay at Kung Carl.”

“Great stay! The hotel’s in a super convenient spot; right in the centre with lots of shops around and just a short walk to the water with beautiful views. The staff were really friendly and helpful. My room was spacious, very clean, and had a little drink bar with snacks (you can scan a QR code to check the prices). Breakfast was excellent - plenty of options with hot drinks, a warm buffet, cold buffet, and yummy pastries. I took off one star because of the new outdoor pre-entrance area. I didn’t see the metal bar (it’s the same colour as the frame) and tripped with my luggage. Thankfully, the next day they put up a clear warning tape over the bar after the receptionist noticing others had done the same. There are also a few steps to get to the entrance and the lift, so carrying luggage can be a bit of a workout. Step-free access would make a big difference! Other than that, everything was great. They even offer luggage storage after checkout, which is super handy if you want to explore a bit more before leaving. I’d definitely stay here again!”

“Bit hung on the judgement of this hotel. The athmosphere is quite nice, its a building with character. The room I had was small, which in itself is OK, but it was on the sixth floor, under the roof, looking out over the patio. No airco, just airflow management. So that means - hot, even in sping. Since breakfast is on the patio, also noisy in the morning. Small elevators that take a lot of (waiting) time getting you up and down. Breakfast is good, but this not an experience worth 200+ euro’s a night. Next time, different place.”
