“This is definitely a must do trip. It’s hard to put in words how awesome the landscape actually is when standing at the pier. Cannot fault the team. They made us feel very welcomed, and were extremely friendly. The boat itself is spacious, warm and comfortable , with great 360 degree views from the lounge. And the hot chocolate - well that just rounded the trip off nicely. For someone who does not normally give feedback, I’m very happy to rate this experience 10 out of ten 🙏”
“This was definitely an amazing day and the crew worked to make it even more special. We know that this kind of experience depends a lot on the weather and mother nature and we got lucky because we had clear sky and we’ve seen Orcas and Humpbacks. On top of that, the explanations from Ionna have been nicely done, so we’ve got to know a lot more about whales. Finally Bee and Maria with their kindness completed this perfect day! Thank you all!”
“We had a brilliant experience on BrimExplorer1! The boat is lovely and warm with plenty of access to drinks, food and toilets onboard! We managed to see 2 pods of orca and a couple of fin whales close to the boat! The tour was also very educational, learning about whales, northern lights and Norway! Our guide Francesca was brilliant! Friendly and very informative. We would love to come again next season!”
“I did the 4 hour afternoon Tromso fjord cruise . We were blessed with sunshine for the whole trip. The two female tour guides were fantastic. So informative in a really interesting way . Seeing the underwater wildlife via the underwater drone was amazing. The scenery all around is so special . Literally on top of the world !”
“We did the Tromsø – Silent Whale Watching by Hybrid-Electric Ship with Brim Explorer, and overall it was a very good experience. The views were absolutely spectacular, and we were lucky enough to see killer whales from a distance, which was still very special. We were told that the boats keep a maximum distance of about 50 meters from the whales in order to respect and protect them, which I think is absolutely the right approach. However, from our experience, it felt like we were much farther than 50 meters, which was a bit disappointing, even though we completely understand and respect the conservation-focused policy. The guides Fred, Jules, Sandra, and Dagmar were great. They gave several presentations throughout the trip, explaining different topics related to whales, the environment, and the area, which made the journey very interesting and educational. Overall, I found it to be a good tour. The only thing I would suggest improving is the food information on the website. The tour starts very early (7:45 a.m.), and while the website mentions food and drinks for sale, we were only offered cinnamon rolls and cookies for breakfast, and soup for lunch. It would be helpful to clearly state the food options in advance, as we relied on that information and didn’t bring our own food. On a very positive note, on our way back we were lucky enough to see the northern lights, which was a beautiful and unexpected bonus and made the experience even more memorable. Aside from that, it was a beautiful and well-organized experience, and I would still recommend it, especially for those who value a respectful and sustainable way of whale watching.”
