Ribersborgsstranden
Ribersborgsstranden, usually called Ribban, is Malmö’s most visited beach and a long public seaside park-and-beach strip that runs for more than 1.5 kilometers along the Öresund. The beach as it exists today was shaped in 1994, when about 22,000 cubic meters of sand were added to create the broad sandy shoreline. It sits in the Ribersborg area of western Malmö, close to the city center and the Turning Torso, with Ribersborgs kallbadhus at the end of one of the jetties as one of the area’s best-known landmarks. What makes it special is the mix of city beach, grassy park, open sea views, jetties, dunes, and the year-round bathhouse where people swim and sauna even in colder months. Malmö stad says grilling is allowed only at municipal grill spots between 9:00 and 17:00 during the day, and the beach is easy to use for a quick swim, walk, or run without leaving the city.
