Drakstaden Sub Sport Club

Drakstaden Skatepark in Sundsvall is a meeting place for spontaneous sports, where the sports Skateboard, BMX and inline skating are practiced. The organization currently has about 800 active members, and interest is increasing more and more. The activities are run by the non-profit association Drakstaden Sub Sport klubb, which was founded in 1999. The skatepark is open on weekdays, and also during weekends. During the day Drakstaden is regularly visited by students from various schools, who have one of the sports as an elective, and schools - and other groups - also have the opportunity to hold outdoor activity days with us. During school holidays special holiday activities are conducted, often with extended opening hours, instructors and camp activities. Drakstaden also has special beginner initiatives, which have resulted in more and more people seeking out the activities. There is a wide range of ages here, and the skatepark is known for a pleasant atmosphere, where the older youths help the younger ones, and also serve as role models. The activities are built on the youngsters' own efforts and engagement. This includes, among other things, work in our cafeteria and at the cash desk, cleaning and maintenance of the premises, ramp building, work as instructors and during camps. A fair amount of work is also put into demonstrations and competitions. Drakstaden Skatepark has become a very important meeting place for many of Sundsvall's children and young people, and the sports practiced here are very important alternatives and complements to the team sports available. Children and young people meet here, from different backgrounds and from different parts of the municipality (and also from other parts of the country). We are very satisfied and proud of our activities, with a pleasant atmosphere and a strong commitment. Check out our Facebook page for upcoming events. Read more here
