Read more here Klampenborg - formerly Dårholmen - is an island and a nature reserve. For over 60 years, until 1932, a sawmill operated here. At that time, several hundred people lived on the island, which was its own little community with a store and a school. For a period, a newspaper was even published, Barometern. It was handwritten and behind it was the local temperance society. The last residents moved away around 1960 and today there are no houses left. On Klampenborg, there are graves from the Iron Age and possibly also the Bronze Age (the information varies), including a burial mound at the top of Flaggberget. During an inventory in the 1820s, about 70 graves were found, but most of them have been destroyed since then. On the northern part of the island, there are remnants of a defensive installation that it is possible to go down and look at.
