Södra Promenadens Lekplats

Södra Promenadens Lekplats is a public outdoor playground in Malmö designed as a “rörelselekplats” (movement playground) that emphasizes physical activity like climbing, balancing, swinging, rolling, digging, and bouncing. The site was developed by Malmö Stad as part of the city’s themed playground program to support children’s motor skills and active play. It is located along Södra Promenaden, a tree-lined promenade in the southern part of central Malmö, near the multisport arena at the end of the playground’s red asphalt path. A distinctive feature is the winding red asphalt trail that runs through the playground, allowing kids to ride skateboards, in-line skates, or bicycles. The playground is open year-round with no set closing hours, making it accessible anytime, and it’s especially lively on sunny afternoons when families gather for active play.
