Bullen

Bullen is a traditional Swedish husmanskost restaurant and pub at Storgatan 35 in central Malmö, postal code 211 41, serving dishes such as meatballs with whiskey cream sauce, pressed cucumber, lingonberries and mashed potatoes, alongside fish soup and other Scandinavian fare. The restaurant has operated since 1897, making it one of Malmö’s longstanding dining rooms, with antique furniture, woodwork and patterned wallpaper that preserve an old-fashioned tavern atmosphere. Its own Czech monastery-beer selection comes from Želiv Monastery, whose brewery dates to the thirteenth century, and the menu includes lunch with salad, lingonberry drink, milk, light beer or water. Bullen opens Monday and Tuesday from 11:30 to midnight, Wednesday through Friday from 11:30 to 01:00, Saturday from 12:00 to 01:00 and Sunday from 12:00 to 22:00; the kitchen generally closes at 22:30, so arrive earlier for a full dinner.
