Avicii Arena

Avicii Arena is a large indoor arena for concerts, ice hockey, TV productions, and major events, not a museum or gallery. It opened in 1989 as Stockholm Globe Arena, was renamed Ericsson Globe in 2009, and took its current name, Avicii Arena, on May 19, 2021 in memory of Tim Bergling, the Swedish DJ and producer known as Avicii. It stands at Globentorget 2 in Johanneshov, beside Globen metro station and the surrounding Stockholm Globe City cluster that also includes 3Arena and Hovet. The building is famous for its spherical shape, a 110-meter diameter, and for being one of Stockholm’s most recognizable landmarks, with space for about 16,000 spectators at concerts and 13,850 for hockey. After a major modernization, it reopened on February 1, 2025, and practical details like ticketing and event hours depend on the specific show, so the best approach is to check the event page in advance and arrive early on event days.
