ABBA The Museum

ABBA The Museum is an interactive museum devoted to Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, located at Djurgårdsvägen 68 on Djurgården, beside Gröna Lund and between Liljevalchs and the amusement park. Founded by Ulf Westman and Ewa Wigenheim-Westman, it opened on May 7, 2013, within the Swedish Music Hall of Fame. Exhibits include ABBA’s stage costumes, instruments, gold records, the 1974 Eurovision “Waterloo” display, a recreation of Polar Studio, Stig Anderson’s office, and the band’s songwriting cottage on Viggsö. Interactive stations let visitors sing and mix ABBA songs, appear as the group’s “fifth member,” use virtual costumes, and see Benny’s self-playing piano linked to his home instrument. The museum generally opens daily from 10:00 to 18:00; booking a timed ticket in advance is sensible, especially in summer and during school holidays.
