Tom Tits Experiment

Tom Tits Experiment is Sweden’s largest science centre, founded in Södertälje in 1987 and housed since 1989 in a former Alfa Laval industrial building on Storgatan 33, near the town centre. The name comes from Tom Tit, a fictional experimenter featured in late-19th-century French magazines and books by Arthur Good. Four indoor floors contain more than 400 hands-on experiments covering physics, technology, mathematics, biology, geography, optical illusions and the human body, while the outdoor Experiment Park, open from May to September, includes a high-wire bicycle, gold-panning station, water experiments and a plant maze. The centre is open year-round, normally Monday through Sunday from 10:00 to 17:00, though holiday and event schedules can differ; advance planning is sensible during school holidays, when special programmes and demonstrations are often added.
