Slottsträdgården
Slottsträdgården is an open, ecological garden located on the old citadel area right next to Malmöhus Castle in central Malmö, between Slottsparken and Kungsparken. It was established in 1997 by a group of enthusiastic Malmö garden lovers who first conceived the idea in 1994 to create an accessible ecological garden within the city. The 12,000-square-meter site is operated by a private association following ecological principles and features distinct sections including a kitchen garden, orchard, rose garden, perennial garden, Japanese garden, and a greenhouse. Visitors can buy vegetables and plants grown there during summer, attend events like concerts and workshops, or relax at the small garden café, which operates from early April to late October. The garden itself is open year-round with no entry fee, making it a quiet, green retreat for picnics and unwinding just behind the castle with the windmill visible in the background.
