Islamic Center i Malmö - Moskén

Malmö Mosque, also called Islamic Center i Malmö or Malmö Moskén, is a mosque serving as the main prayer hall and community center for Islamic Center i Malmö. Construction began in 1983 and the building was completed within a year, opening officially on April 20, 1984. The mosque is managed by the Islamic Center organization, which was founded in the early 1960s to plan the project, and it stands at Jägersrovägen 90 in the Jägersro Villastad neighborhood of Husie, just east of Inre ringvägen. It is notable as the second-oldest mosque building in Sweden and the second largest, hosting around 1,000 worshippers for Friday prayers and over 70,000 visitors annually. The site includes an adjacent Islamic school and library administered by the same organization, and it functions as a key religious, cultural, and social meeting point for Muslims from Skåne and Copenhagen. The mosque is open during all prayer times, while administrative offices operate Monday to Friday from 08:30 to 15:30, and study visits can be arranged by contacting studiebesok@islamiccenter.se.
