Safjallets Naturreservat
Safjällets naturreservat is a kommunalt naturreservat, a municipal nature reserve, in Mölndal that was established in 1991 and covers about 88 hectares. It sits on a rocky plateau directly next to Toltorpsdalen, with steep southwestern slopes that stand out in the cityscape, and the reserve is managed by Mölndals kommun. The area is known for its mixed forest of pine, spruce, and birch, plus the fact that parts of the landscape have been shaped by planting and natural overgrowth from former heathland. What makes it notable is the network of trails and the open views from the hills over Mölndal, making it a local recreation area rather than a formal park with buildings or a single founder. There are no regular opening hours or reservation requirements; it is an outdoor reserve that you can visit freely, and it is especially practical to go in daylight when the paths and viewpoints are easiest to use.
