Akademibokhandeln at Mäster Samuelsgatan 28 is a large bookshop and stationery store in central Stockholm, near Gallerian and Sergels torg. The shop first opened at this address in 1977 and reopened after extensive renovation on 4 September 2025 as the chain’s flagship store. Covering about 2,000 square metres, it carries roughly 15,000 different book titles alongside games, writing supplies, arts-and-crafts materials, newspapers, and journals. It is operated by Akademibokhandeln, Sweden’s nationwide bookstore chain, rather than being associated with a single individual founder or designer. The current regular hours are Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 19:00, Saturday from 10:00 to 18:00, and Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00; weekday visits are generally easiest for browsing the extensive selection.
