Konserthuset Stockholm

Konserthuset Stockholm is a major classical-concert hall and the home venue of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, not a bar or nightclub. Designed by architect Ivar Tengbom and opened in 1926, it stands on Hötorget at Sveavägen 19, beside Hötorget metro station and the Hötorget food market. Its blue neoclassical façade and grand concert interiors are especially associated with the annual Nobel Prize award ceremony, held there since 1926, while the main hall is known for its strong acoustics and seating for a large symphony audience. Concerts, chamber performances, jazz events, and guided art-and-architecture tours take place throughout the year. The box office is open Monday to Friday from 14:00 to 18:00, on non-holiday Saturdays from 12:00 to 15:00, and usually for two hours before performances; booking ahead is sensible for popular concerts.
