Särö västerskog
Särö Västerskog is a nature reserve in Kungsbacka Municipality, west of Särö in Halland, not a park or garden in the formal sense. It was established as a nature reserve in 1974 and covers about 55 hectares of old oak- and pine forest, with beaches, pastures, and Bronze Age graves inside the reserve. The area is known for very old trees, including oaks and pines that are around 200 to 300 years old, and a pine found in 1914 that had 480 growth rings, which is believed to have been the oldest known pine in Halland. There is no single creator or founder; the reserve is a protected natural area owned by Naturvårdsverket, and it is also part of Natura 2000. You enter from Särö, along Gustaf V:s väg near Särö kyrka, and practical access is straightforward because the reserve is open year-round, with walking paths, a large parking area, and the best views from the rocky hilltops over the forest and the archipelago.
