Sjömagasinet Sverige

Sjömagasinet is an upscale Swedish fish-and-seafood restaurant at Adolf Edelsvärds gata 5 in the Klippan cultural reserve, beside the Göta River near the harbour entrance and Älvsborgsbron. The building dates from 1775, when it served as a warehouse for the Swedish East India Company, and later housed customs officials and pilots; the restaurant opened there in 1984. Leif Mannerström took over in 1994 with Lars Ahlström, while Ulf Wagner acquired it in 2010 and ran the kitchen with Gustav Trägårdh, who was named Swedish Chef of the Year that same year. Sjömagasinet is known for traditional and contemporary Swedish seafood, including fish and shellfish, and held a Michelin star from 1999 to 2010 and again from 2013 until 2018. The wooden building has harbour-facing seating, with the terrace and first-floor tables offering the clearest views; current listed hours are Tuesday–Friday 11:30–23:00 and Saturday–Sunday 13:00–23:00, and advance booking is advisable, especially for weekend dining.
