Familjen is a contemporary brasserie at Arkivgatan 7 in Gothenburg’s Lorensberg district, close to Kungsportsavenyen and the city’s cultural institutions. Opened in 2009, it serves modern West Swedish cuisine built around seasonal ingredients and produce sourced through local fishermen, farmers, and butchers. The restaurant is known for its Michelin Bib Gourmand, awarded for high-quality cooking at a comparatively reasonable price, and combines a fine-dining kitchen with the relaxed atmosphere of a neighbourhood restaurant. It opens Monday through Thursday from 17:00 to 23:00 and Friday and Saturday from 17:00 until late; Sunday is generally closed, and booking ahead is sensible for Friday and Saturday evenings.
