ArkDes

ArkDes is Sweden’s national museum and research centre for architecture and design, established in 1962 and now part of the Moderna Museet government agency. It occupies an award-winning building on Exercisplan 4, on Skeppsholmen island beside Moderna Museet and close to the Royal Institute of Art, with the main entrance reached from Exercisplan. Its collection contains around four million objects, including architectural drawings, models, photographs, furniture and design documents, while exhibitions, lectures and workshops examine subjects from urban planning to digital design. Admission is free; it is open Tuesday from 10:00 to 20:00, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00 to 18:00, Friday from 10:00 to 20:00, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00, and it is closed Mondays.
