Indalsälvens delta
This coastal delta at the mouth of the Indalsälven is one of Sweden's largest delta areas. There are lovely sandy beaches, accessible footpaths and several nice resting places. The reserve is home to plants that depend on flooding and many bird species rest in the area. Swimming and hiking The Indalsälven delta is a popular destination on hot summer days. Many people come here to sunbathe and swim on the kilometer-long sandy beach. The path out is adapted so that it is possible to get there with both strollers and wheelchairs. The reserve has several picnic areas with fireplaces. If you want to go for a walk, you can follow the newly created 3-kilometer trail around the reserve. Keep in mind! The eastern part of the beach is a naturist bathing area. If you want to swim without clothes, you can go here. And if you don't want to meet a naked person, you might want to avoid this part of the beach. Accessibility From the parking lot, there is a 1.5 kilometer long accessible path to Smackgrundet. It is flat and without gradients. The first kilometer is a wide gravel path. It ends at the first rest area with bench tables and a barbecue area. Then the trail continues out to Smackgrundet over two suspension bridges that are wide enough for wheelchairs and in between wooden ramps with edges. Out by the beach at Smackgrundet there is a picnic area on a wooden deck with accessibility adaptations. A little before there are two accessible toilets.
