Merlo Slott

In Timrå a mile north of Sundsvall, you will find the only castle in the north, Merlo Slott, which was built in 1883 to 1885 by Fredrik Bunsow. The German entrepreneur who became a big wooden cartridge with a great fortune. During the peak of his career, he built Merlo Castle as his summer pleasure for himself and his family. Merlo Castle is a cultural heritage with its chivalrous architecture in the middle of the Northern landscape. This residence (north wing) is the former janitorial residence that is completely renovated in a cozy and pleasant atmosphere in the castle park overlooking the Castle. We have done the renovation with care for modern features but wanted to keep the old castle feeling. If you are a larger company, you can rent both floors with space for 12 people/beds. We are a curious family that bought Merlo Slott from SCA in autumn 2023. Here we will live, live and share this beautiful environment with You who choose to rent from us. A place you can walk around and enjoy all the beautiful trees and plants. Wintertime there is Skönvik's slalombacke and light tracks for cross-country skiing a stone's throw away. Summer time there is stige cycling and beach areas nearby. Birsta City, one of Sweden’s largest shopping centres, is only 5 minutes’ drive.
