Göta kanal museum - "Från idé till verklighet"

The Göta Canal Exhibition From Idea to Reality in Motala is located in one of the two pavilions by the canal in the area of Old Motala Workshop, between Borenshult locks and Motala guest harbor in Vättern. By boat, you can easily reach the exhibition from the small guest harbor in Motala Workshop.The exhibition shows how Baltzar von Platen took the 300-year-old idea of building a waterway across Sweden and realized it by constructing the Göta Canal. Here you will meet the people who made it possible to build the canal and the technology they used.Entrance is included in the canal fee for recreational boats, and you enter the exhibition with the Service Card. Entry fees for other visitors can be booked here, and the ticket is then shown at Café Mallboden right next door.
