Storberget Naturreservat
A path leads you up on Storberget, where the view is mild. At the top there is a rest cabin from the fireguard time and a resting place with fireplace. The forest on the mountain is natural forested with, among other things, the rare lavender egg. The peak is at 430 metres level and consists of pour land where felling took place in the 1950s. If the weather is right, you can glimpse the city mountains in Sundsvall. Previously there was a fireguard tower built around the middle of the 20th century. The tower was demolished about 15 years ago and today only the foundations remain. If you follow the path from the village of Västansjö towards Storberget’s peak, after about 500-600 meters, you can make a switch to a block cave formed by a large stone block leaning towards a rock wall. It is called in the mouth of the Lars-Mons chamber after the one-disorder and big thief which is once said to have been here.
