On Screen@ The Node: SKÅNISH by Akram Mahmod

SKÅNISH is a double installation featuring footage from online archives and the artist’s family collection of DV tapes. The work consists primarily of material from private family archives, bringing films from different periods into dialogue with one another. Akram Mahmod (b. 1994) is an artist based in Malmö and Stockholm. Through his material, Mahmod explores questions of identity, belonging and representation, rooted in his experience of growing up in Skåne as a first-generation Swede.
