Café Chokladkoppen

Café Chokladkoppen is a café serving pastries, sandwiches, lunch dishes, hot and cold drinks, and its signature hot chocolate with whipped cream at Stortorget 18 in Stockholm’s Gamla stan, beside the Nobel Prize Museum. It has operated since 1997 inside the Seyfridtz House, a building probably constructed in the 1520s and named after its seventeenth-century owner, Hans Seyfridzt. The three-storey medieval masonry, staircase facing Stortorget, and yellow eighteenth-century façade make the café’s setting unusually historic. It is especially known for its hot chocolate, large cinnamon buns, outdoor tables overlooking Stockholm’s central square, and welcoming LGBTQ+ atmosphere. Listed hours are generally 9:00 to 22:00 daily, though hours can change; reservations are usually unnecessary, but arriving before lunchtime or in the morning makes finding a table easier.
