Kungsträdgården

Kungsträdgården is a public urban park and green oasis located in the Norrmalm district of central Stockholm at Jussi Björlings allé 10, with the postal code 111 47. Originally established in the 17th century next to the Tre Kronor palace for the exclusive recreation and cultivation needs of the royal court, it opened to the general public in the 20th century following a major transformation for Stockholm's 700th anniversary in 1953. The park is notable for its four distinct spaces, including the Square of Charles XII and the Square of Charles XIII, and serves as Stockholm's primary social front yard featuring outdoor cafés, art galleries like Galleri Doktor Glas, and a winter ice rink. Visitors flock here in late April to see the famous cherry blossoms in the northern section and throughout the year to attend over 200 events ranging from festivals to open-air concerts. The site is free to enter and easily accessible via metro, bus, or streetcar, with a walking time of less than 15 minutes from Stockholm Central Station.
