Spritmuseum

Spritmuseum is a museum devoted to Swedish drinking culture, covering alcohol’s history, production, social rituals, and changing relationship with Swedish society through sensory displays, film, music, scents, and art, including the internationally known Absolut Art Collection. Established in 1967 as the Wine & Spirit Historical Museum, it moved in 2012 to the historic Galärskjulen buildings on Djurgårdsstrand 9, 115 21 Stockholm, between the Vasa Museum and The Viking Museum. Its permanent exhibition, Spritlandet Sverige, traces Swedish drinking culture from the fifteenth century to the present, while temporary exhibitions address subjects such as prohibition-era smugglers and moonshine. The museum, restaurant, and bar are generally open daily from 11:00 to 22:00; booking ahead is sensible for tastings, food experiences, and scheduled events.
