Stora bageriet

Stora Bageriet is a café and bakery at Sibyllegatan 2, inside the Museum of Performing Arts in Östermalm, about 250 metres from Östermalmstorg and close to Berzelii Park. It occupies one of Stockholm’s oldest industrial buildings, historically known as Kronobageriet, a military bakery that supplied soldiers with fresh bread for more than three centuries and operated until the 1950s. The modern bakery is run by the team behind Gast and serves sourdough bread, pastries, sandwiches, specialty coffee, natural wine and locally produced beer. Its setting is the main attraction: the café combines contemporary baking with the preserved character of a former military bakery, and the spacious interior and outdoor terrace make it suitable for breakfast, fika or a light lunch. Typical hours are 7:30–18:00 on weekdays and 8:00–18:00 on weekends, but hours can change; arrive early for the broadest selection of bread and pastries.
