Design House Stockholm

Design House Stockholm’s flagship store is a Scandinavian design retailer and publisher at Götgatan 14 in Södermalm, beside Slussen. Founded in 1992 by Anders Färdig, the company collaborates with more than 60 designers to produce furniture, lighting, textiles, and home accessories, including the Block Lamp, Knot Cushion, Step Ladder, and Björk rugs. The shop is notable for presenting design as a publishing concept: products begin as independent designers’ ideas and are developed with manufacturers rather than selected from a conventional in-house range. It is open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 to 17:00 and Sunday from 11:00 to 16:00; the central Södermalm location makes weekday daytime the least crowded time to browse.
