Designtorget

Designtorget at Sergelgatan 20 is a Scandinavian design and gift shop selling home accessories, furniture, stationery, crafts, and products from both established and emerging designers. The company began in 1993 on the ground floor of Kulturhuset in Stockholm, where an architect transformed an empty space into a marketplace for designers and inventors; the Sergelgatan branch opened in 2021. The 164-square-metre store stands beside a subway entrance in the Nya Sergelstaden redevelopment, close to Hötorget, Konserthuset, and the pedestrian route toward Sergels torg. Its changing selection is notable for combining retail with the presentation of new Swedish design, including the small Stockholmslejon sculptures based on artist Anders Årfelt’s concrete lions installed along Drottninggatan in 1995. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 10:00–19:00, Saturday 10:00–17:00, and Sunday 11:00–16:00; weekday mornings are generally the quietest time to browse.
