Eje's Chocolate Factory
Eje’s Chocolate Factory is a historic chocolate and confectionery shop with on-site production at Erik Dahlbergsgatan 25 in Östermalm, Stockholm. Judith Andersson founded the business in 1923 as a caramel factory on Birger Jarlsgatan 124; after that building was slated for demolition, the company moved to its current premises in early 1963. Judith later handed the business to her son Erik Andersson, known as Eje, whose name became the company’s identity; the Ardebäck family acquired it in the 1980s. The shop is known for handmade pralines, chocolates, caramels and marzipan, and has been a Swedish Royal Court Supplier since 1990. It is open Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 18:00 and Saturday from 10:00 to 16:00, with the production and retail shop sharing the same Östermalm address.
